Windows Xp Home Edition Cd?

By WinPie Posted in: windows

Is there anyway to obtain a winxp home edition installation cd online that does not install any service pack. Because i use to have a cd like that, that a friend of mine gave me. and when i used it, it installed home editon without any service pack. I tried it with another xp home edition cd, but that cd said it came with service pack 3 and when it asked me to type in my product key i did. but it said that it was incorrect. when i booted from the cd that my friend gave me it didnt just give you the option to install xp, it also had the options to install professional and to do other crap. any infon on obtaining a cd like that will be greatly appreciated.

It depends on how the Service Pack was added to XP.CD. If it’s done inline, Copy the CD to your Hard Drive, remove the SP folder and one SPx.xxx file on the root. Use a software like ISOBuster to recreate the CD
Same procedure to add newer SP but only in reverse order.
Search Google on how to use the ISOBuster
If the above procedure doesn’t work for you, try buying a sealed XP OS at Ebay.
    Good Luck

Microsoft have stopped support on SP2, so if your not on SP3 your Operating System maybe unsupported? SP3 will be supported until Aug. 2014
