Strange Question: How Do I Convince My Father Not To Be Angry That I’ve Been Downloading Music Free?

Well, I don’t even know how to word this, haha.
For Father’s Day, I was going to make my dad a mixtape, basically of where my mind has wandered these past few months. I’m not very close with my parents, and it upsets them that I don’t really let them in on what I’m thinking, etc. So I thought it would be “special” and thoughtful, and he hates receiving gifts he doesn’t need/it’s a waste of money, etc etc, and he loves music.
But… he’ll be curious as to where I’ve gotten all my music, since I never ask him to buy off iTunes/from the store, you know? And he’s very.. uh, well he’s strict on following rules and stuff like that, and he’s against Limewire and all, as he should be, I guess.
Anyways, this is already getting too long, I’m assuming he’ll be pretty upset and I don’t know how I’ll explain myself or if I’ll be able to continue downloading music, gfdgkjf I just don’t know. But I’d realllly like to do this for him. I’m just stuck on what to say if he asks.
Please don’t get into how I shouldn’t be doing this because it’s illegal. I use Beemp3, and whether or not that’s legal is not the concern.
