Should I Begin To Write A Fiction Novel?

By WinPie Posted in: windows

I was never good in Lit and honestly I found it to be boring. But for some reason this fictional story has been flooding my thoughts. I keep a notepad with me in my car for when new plots or twist sneak up on me. Should I really go for it and write this even though my writing skills aren’t up to par. Could an editor make it sound better?

Go ahead and try. You might turn out to be a natural storyteller. Stick to your own language and voice — don’t worry about nonsense like “caressing the reader’s mental palate.” If you finish the book, set it aside for a couple of months, then read it again and see if you like it. If you do, go ahead and try to get it published.
Never pay to get published. Remember: money always flows toward the author. Anyone who wants you to pay for any part of the process is not your friend. If an editor can make your book better, your publisher will pay for that.
Useful fact about writing screenplays and graphic novel scripts: they’re much harder to sell than novels.

you have to think of the plot and pacing and try your best and make sure there is a way for the audience to relate to your story like think a story about a thunderbolt and a shaman two heroes ostracized from their liands that fall in love and try their best and yeah its unorthodox but if you don’t try it you don’t know if you will succeed. also write a really long book. I keep hearing ppl say “too big to fail” and I’m pretty sure thats about books. think of huge books. Lord of the Rings maybe? Would it really be liked by hundreds of ppl accrost the world if no one heard of it? and how would they hear about it except it’s such a big book! it stands out in the super market. It has to be good, mom, you might say. Look how big it is! also it contains more information so you get more amount of info for the same price. So you have to think about the long term because buying a book is a HUGE investment in your education, your future, your family!

If your writing skills aren’t up to par, and you have a good story, you should write a SCREENPLAY, or a pitch for a screenplay, not a novel. When people read novels, they want the language to caress their mental palates, leaving lasting images and ideas that change their lives.

You can write it, and then have a friend, family member or teacher read it (and proofread it if needed). Ask their opinions. It never hurts to write it, though you can’t write it with the expectation to get published. Write it for fun, for yourself. Its the only way to get the idea out of your head :)

  5. Jeanette Says

you should just write it and see how it turns out. then you can decide if you want to publish it. just give it a try :)

    Sure.
Anyone who can form a sentence can write a novel.
