I have a windows 7 intel pentium processor e5700 computer. My computer runs great, but at least once a week, when I wake up in the morning, I noticed my computer has restarted itself on it’s own. You never know when it’s going to, but consistently does this only once a week or so. I know it restarted because I have to close out the program windows that pop up upon restart. Sometimes, not even restarting on it’s own at all. I think it might have something to do with the circuit breaker being tripped, but you would think it would be happening more frequently. I don’t have another plug where I can plug the power bar into. It is setup just the way I want it to be. Any idea as to what’s going on? Thanks.

usually it will do that because you have some setting that allows it to automatically reset itself when updates are downloaded and installed… it would piss me off because i usually have about 40 tabs opened and 10 important spreadsheets or programs or who knows what for my job and i’d wake up to find my computer had re-started… it didn’t take me but a few times of that to hunt down the setting and make it to where it does not automatically reboot on updates.
though unfortunately i dont remember where it is specifically.. i had to google it. (i know you’re not supposed to say that here.. sorry)
UNLESS of course you mean randomly reboots like – while you are ON the computer, then that’s different.
