Is There A Way To Show Blue Screen Messages In Windows Xp Professional?

My computer restarted itself a few minutes ago and a blue screen message showed up for a few seconds explaining why it had to restart and I’d like to be able to read it so I can find out what the problem is.

try the pause button on the keyboard
it may or may not works depending on
    where the crash happens

Believe me – blue screen messages are totally unhelpful. If you’re lucky you might catch the name of the process that crashed but that’s about it.
The rest is just a bunch of register contents that even the programmer wouldn’t be able to make sense of.
If it appears again, try hitting the pause button but I doubt it will have any effect.
As a rule, crashes happen after you have updated something or installed a new program, or if some hardware component (normally memory) is playing up. If this has happened for the first time, think about whether you have installed something lately.
