Is It Wrong To Suggest Engagement Rings To Boyfriend?

My boyfriend and i have been together for 2 and a half years and we’ve been in a long distance relationship so we see each other like 2 weeks a month. We’ve been talking about marriage and he’s already told me that he’s going to propose in November but he says he’s also going to have a surprise for me when he does it. I don’t really care about the size of the diamond but i just don’t want just a plain engagement ring with a diamond i want some color to it like a pink,black or canary diamond or ruby side stones. My birthday is in April and so my birthstone is a diamond but and i think plain diamonds are just boring so i want something special. I have a list with three pictures of rings i really love but i don’t know if it would be wrong to show him them and tell him that i want something like those. He has not bought me the ring yet
