I’m thinking about getting the ASUS eee keyboard

Yes, wireless is just as good as wired.
Using a microsoft wireless keyboard and mouse for many years. No issues, works just like a wired mouse. Make sure the battery power in keyboard and mouse is there… else change the battery/ recharge it!!!
