Choose an author that you know something about.
    Possible structure: -
    Author’s life & background
    Author’s major works
    Features of author’s writing
Your personal reaction to the author’s writing.

Oscar Wilde is probably quite an interesting one because he wrote about interesting topics such as sustaining beauty and never ageing like in his book The Picture of Dorian Gray!
Or the author who wrote Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility, but these are mainly about the growing up and finding love of young girls but in different ways.
Personally I think Oscar Wilde would be a more interesting one to study!
    Hope it helps

    Brontë
    Dickens
    Wilde (like the post above)
George Orwell may be interesting – Animal Farm is a very good story to research!

Vladimir Nabokov is the way to go!
His novel Lolita has been banned in the past
and yet it’s still considered as one of the best literary classics.
Quite an interesting guy. So this topic Nabokov will surely interest anyone.

Classical as in Ancient Greece and Rome?
    If so:
Homer (he wrote the Iliad and the Odyssey)
    Virgil (the Aenied)
Ovid (Metamorphoses – poetry/prose ie Theseus and the Minotaur)
Others, such as Suetonius, Tacitus, Livy and Cicero are more factual, being biographies and speeches.
