Ever since a year or so ago after normal use and a shutdown after, my Acer desktop will not boot without giving POST beeps. The computer itself turns on, but Windows doesnt boot, the screen (DVI input) does not find a signal, and pretty much everything else.
The thing is, after afew power cycles the computer will, eventually, boot, sometimes ranging from just under a minute of power-cycling and up till an hour.
The POST beeps were: two short beeps following 8 beeps.
I have drawn up some conclusions.
RAM issue, tried it, swapped RAM, removed RAM, they have a different POST beep to this.
No keyboard input: I have a wireless usb keyboard and mouse, similar POST beep codes say its a keyboard connection error, but im putting this aside first because my computer used to work for a year before this happened with current USB keyboard.
Boot sequence: Selected to boot HDD first.
Anyway, here are my specs.
Acer Aspire M5620
Intel Q9300 Yorkfield @2.50GHz
Acer G33T-AM motherboard with AMI R01-B0 BIOS,
3GB RAM
Hope somebody can help, thank you.

pull out the video card if it is an add in card and reseat it. check to make sure it remains fully seated after you apply the screw that holds it in (have known a few cards to pop out just a but when that is done) or insert card into another slot if possible.
when it beeps there’s suppose to be lights flashing at the back of the case in a certain order/color which will tell u the problem (u will need ur computer’s manual)
