I have Windows XP Home Edition, Service Pack 1, and no matter what I do, I cannot get it to do updates! I’ve even gone to the Microsoft website and downloaded service pack 2, and it won’t let it install. Any recommendations?

when its turned on it only shows a black screen…the loader got deleted somehow by a virus i guess..no guarantee and i dont have the factory defaults disk any help? thanks

I had problems with my Window XP desktop and saved all my data onto an external hard drive and re-formatted the disk and clean installed Windows XP. Is it OK to keep my “stuff” on an external hard drive connected to my desktop rather than transferring everything over to my “C” drive?
